Ideas -> Show movies
In order to increase awareness about environmental problems we thought of showing movies related to environment, global warming etc. to students and other members of IIIT Hyderabad. After watching such movies it is hoped that people will realize the seriousness of the issue and make more conscious efforts towards conservation of energy.
As part of this idea we organized our first movie telecast of movie 'An Inconvinient Truth' on 30th September, 2010. Unfortunately we discovered that turnout for such shows is very low. The reasons for low turnout could be nearby assignment deadlines because of which students cannot come to attend movie or since the movie is very famous, it is possible that many students have seen it earlier.
